Last year I was gifted Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm and I have not used another lotion since. It is versatile and everything you need in one 5.07 fl oz lotion! The Way it Feels

Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm feels silky and smooth. I like a little depth to my lotions to really feel that it is working right away. This lotion has a sensation that it is seeping into my dry skin and offers immediate relief. My hands feel sooooo soft and fresh and are visibly smooth.

The Way it Smells

This is where I really wish there was a way you could press a button and smell this lotion. The scent on the Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm is perfect in every way. The scent is strong enough that you can smell it but not too potent that then it becomes obnoxious and clingy on the skin like other lotions/balms I have tried in the past. It is fresh and revitalizing, making it the very best travel companion especially when you are starting to get that restless feeling in your journey and need a little pep in your step. Feminine yet not sweet so that if my husband uses it, he isn’t left smelling like a coconut and a pineapple had a baby.

The Packaging

The packaging makes a statement. The whimsical imagery is inviting and calming. It is a metal ish type of tube that keeps the lotion in tact and protected. On the back of the packaging you will find directions in how to use this lotion in many languages including Italian.

The Surprise

The BEST thing about Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm? It is NOT just a lotion. It can be used for face, hair or body. If you need a little boost for your dry ends, leave the balm on damp hair for a few minutes then rinse for a silky finish! In a pinch for a make up remover? Yup, you can use this balm for that also! Just squeeze a small amount on a cotton ball and remove make up. Finish off with a splash of water and your face will be make -up free but with a soft glow.

The Ingredients

Davines states on the balm that 98% of their ingredients are natural derived. The Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm is made with carthame oil. Organic Carthame Oil contains an extremely high percentage of fatty acids omega 6 and vitamin K, which is very important to skin regeneration. Carthame Oil provides a strong antioxidant action and is known for its peculiar herbaceous and floral aroma.

Cons: It only comes in one size and at 5.07 fl oz it is too big to bring on certain airlines in your carry on and hard to fit in my everyday make up bag.

Also, it is pretty pricy! But this isn’t necessarily a con because it is authentically made in Italy, and with natural ingredients, so you know you are getting what you paid for!
